BroadE: Welcome and Introduction to the goals of ENCODE

The presentation below was filmed during the May 2020 ENCODE Data Utilization workshop, part of the BroadE Workshop series.

The ENCODE project is building a comprehensive parts list of functional elements in the human genome, and mapping the regulatory mechanisms that control gene expression. ENCODE consists of ~15,000 curated datasets, and continues to grow.

This quick introduction explains the goals of the ENCODE project as well as our workshop.
