We will explore how hormone circuits are built, and how they manage to compensate for physiological parameter changes on the timescale of weeks by changing their gland sizes. We will understand type 2 diabetes as a fragility of the cell circuit, and provide a theory for why the body attacks itself in autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes and thyroidis.
