Rajat Gupta, M.D.
Postdoctoral Scholar
Rajat Gupta is a cardiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship in the Kathiresan Lab at the Broad Institute where he identified new mechanisms of vascular disease from human genetic studies. He identified a common genetic variant associated with 5 vascular diseases, and demonstrated its regulatory effect on Endothelin-1 expression (Gupta, et al., Cell, 2017). He works with the Precision Cardiology Lab on the single cell analysis of vascular cell heterogeneity.
Gupta competed clinical training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Cardiology) and Massachusetts General Hospital (Internal Medicine). He received his M.D. degree from the Perlman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan.
