User Interfaces

Information and data are only valuable if those who need them can access, digest, and utilize them. This is as true for researchers, clinicians, and patients who want to use genomic and clinical data to generate medical breakthroughs as it is for drivers and pedestrians using GPS to travel from point A to B.

The DSP addresses the need for portals and interfaces that allow users to interact directly and securely with scientific outputs — methods, datasets, visualizations, analyses, and knowledge. The platform also builds patient-focused web and mobile disease registries to help foundations, patient advocates, and researchers collaborate in the search for new treatments and cures.

DSP-constructed platforms, such as the Data Donation Platform (which enables direct participant engagement, including consent and recontact, via intuitive web and mobile interfaces), tap the Workbench infrastructure to take in, process, and present all manner of research- and patient/clinician-derived data as appropriate. For instance, our user interfaces provide means to:

• Collect health information, sampling kit requests, genomic data, and informed consent from patients wishing to participate in a disease registry or engage research project, and/or their care providers.
• Capture data from sensors and wearable devices.
• Visualize single-cell RNA sequencing data.
• Provide secure access to data (including patient-derived genomic and clinical data) and analytical tools for researchers studying cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other conditions.
