Global partnerships are essential to addressing the world's most pressing — and complex — biological and medical challenges. At the Broad Institute, researchers create, steward, and partner in international collaborations with scientists around the world. We work with researchers and patients to tackle important challenges in biomedicine and find innovative, high-impact solutions.
Patients as partners
Working with patients with cancer, rare diseases, and other conditions to accelerate the pace of discovery and find better treatments
Many patients want to see new treatments developed for their diseases, and are keen to share their samples, data, and perspectives with scientists to help advance research. Thanks to partnerships and connections with advocacy groups and individual patients built through social media and other channels, efforts like Count Me In and the Rare Genomes Project are engaging large numbers of patients not just as participants, but as collaborators. Working together, patients and Broad Institute scientists are accelerating discoveries that could ultimately improve health care.
