We are particularly interested in how epigenetic re-wiring contributes to disease phenotypes, the factors which drive interindividual variation of phenotypes, and whether there are specific molecular or functional points of convergence across disease spectrums. To this end, we use human iPSC models to dissect mechanisms relevant for early human development. Our long-term goal is to leverage molecular and cellular insights to better understand brain development and dysfunction, and to ultimately employ these insights to improve human health.

Our laboratory is committed to fostering and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the institutional and research study levels. We aim to remove roadblocks for future generations of scientists and to ensure that scientific discoveries apply equitably across society.
