Mark Chaffin

Mark Chaffin is a computational scientist II in the Cardiovascular Disease Initiative at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. As a member of the Precision Cardiology Lab, he applies various computational methods to dissect cellular diversity in cardiac tissue and study how this relates to disease. Prior to joining the Broad Institute in 2016, Chaffin studied computational biology and quantitative genetics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, specifically exploring the genetic regulation of gene expression.

Chaffin holds a S.M. degree in computational biology and quantitative genetics from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a B.A. in biology and mathematical sciences from Colby College.
