Lynn Harwell is the administrative director of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad, where she partners with the Stanley Center director and leadership team to provide oversight of the administration and operations of the center. Her role includes developing financial strategies and budgets and managing personnel needs to ensure optimal performance in support of research activities. Harwell also partners with the Broad’s central administration teams, including development, the Office for Sponsored Research, and the Office of Strategic Alliances and Partnering.
Prior to joining the Broad, Harwell was executive director of the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center, a biomedical research group that aims to understand and develop treatments for neurodegenerative disease. Previously, she served as deputy to the governing board chair for finance, policy and outreach at the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). While at CIRM, Harwell managed general obligation bonds to support stem cell research and facilities and led public policy initiatives and outreach to stakeholders.
Harwell received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
