Emme Handy
Chief Financial Officer
Emme Handy is the chief financial officer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
Handy previously served as chief of administration and finance and chief financial officer for the City of Boston, where she was responsible for the long term growth and stability of the city in her oversight of debt and investment management, financial reporting, budget development and oversight, and tax administration. Handy led Boston's workforce and financial response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continuity of essential city services. Handy also previously served as assistant secretary for the budget and fiscal operations and budget director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
In her time at Broad, Handy has served in multiple roles; first as senior director of financial planning and most recently as senior advisor to the chief operating officer, leading cross-administration projects and providing leadership to teams in transition.
Handy currently serves as chairwoman of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority board of directors.
