Bidur Bhandary, Ph.D.
Bidur Bhandary is a research scientist in the Cardiovascular Disease Initiative of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Having joined the Ellinor Lab in January 2020, Bhandary is focused on identifying and characterizing novel cardiovascular therapeutic targets in the partnership program between Broad Institute and Bayer.
Bhandary received his Ph.D. in biomedical science from Jeonbuk National University, South Korea, under the mentorship of Han Jung Chae. After graduation, he joined the laboratory of Jeffrey Robbins in the Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Biology, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, for his postdoctoral training. In the lab, he was involved in understanding the role of myofibroblast specific TGF-beta signaling in the progression of cardiac fibrosis in mouse models of human heart failure.
