Azeet Narayan, Ph,D.
Senior Assay Research Scientist

Azeet Narayan is a senior assay research scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. In this role, Narayan leads the somatic cancer genomics product development lab at the Broad Clinical Labs (BCL), a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited facility providing cutting-edge genomic sequencing services. Additionally, he serves as a senior scientist at the Gerstner Center for Cancer Diagnostics, where his research focuses on pioneering innovative genomic technologies and developing solutions for early cancer diagnosis and monitoring.
He received Rudolf J. Anderson and Leslie H. Warner postdoctoral fellowships for advancing his research at Yale University School of Medicine.
Narayan holds a B.S. in chemistry, an M.S. in biotechnology, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry. He completed his postdoctoral training at Yale University, where he developed multiplexed deep sequencing and error-correction technologies that significantly advanced the early adoption of next-generation sequencing (NGS) for diagnosing and monitoring cancer through blood samples. He continued his research at Yale as a staff scientist, focusing on the development of novel technologies for early cancer detection. After his academic career at Yale, Narayan briefly transitioned to the industry in 2022, serving as a principal scientist at Sema4, where he led the development of Multiomics Research Lab (MORE Lab).
