Alysa Doyle, Ph.D.

Alysa Doyle is an associate researcher and senior staff member at the Broad Institute’s Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research. She is also a licensed child and adult clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She holds faculty appointments in both the Department of Psychiatry and the Center for Human Genetic Research (CHGR) at Massachusetts General Hospital. Doyle’s research lies at the intersection of psychiatric genetics, developmental psychopathology, and neuropsychology. Her studies aim to disentangle complex trajectories to major adult mental illness, determine the utility of emerging genetic risk variants for early identification, and improve evidence-based assessment practices in child psychiatric populations. Her studies have been funded by the National Institutes of Health as well as private foundations.
Doyle has received several awards for her work, including election to Sigma Xi at Williams College, a Dissertation Research Award from the American Psychological Association, and a 50th Anniversary Scholars Award from Harvard Medical School. She is also a consulting editor for the APA journal Neuropsychology.
Doyle earned her B.A. in English and psychology from Williams College and her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at Mass General before joining the faculty. There, prior to moving her independent laboratory to the CHGR, she was director of neuropsychology in the Pediatric Psychopharmacology Unit for over ten years.
