Alexandra Shields

Alexandra Shields is the director of the Harvard/MGH Center on Genomics, Vulnerable Populations and Health Disparities, a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and an associate member at the Broad Institute. As a health policy researcher, her work focuses on the impact of health system change on vulnerable populations. Her principle research interests include quality performance measurement, access to care for underserved populations and integration of new genetic-based treatments into clinical practice. She is the principal investigator on a number of studies aimed at addressing the challenges of translating emerging genetics research into improved health outcomes.
