Affymetrix GeneChip
The Affymetrix GeneChip enables large-scale, genome-wide association studies using high-density arrays that contain thousands of unique probes. These arrays allow researchers to obtain high-quality, genome-wide data using minimal amounts of starting DNA.
The Genetic Analysis Platform has implemented the BirdSeed algorithm for genotype calling of the Human SNP Array 5.0 and 6.0 arrays, and the BirdSuite set of algorithms to detect and report SNP genotypes, common copy number variants (CNVs), and rare/de novo CNVs (Korn et al, Nat Genet. 2008 Oct;40(10), doi:10.1038/ng.237).
Arrays available
The Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0 also includes ~946,000 additional probes designed specifically to assess copy number changes and to complement the genomic coverage of the SNP genotyping probes.

Minimum requirements
Please contact us for minimum sample requirements. We generally prefer to run 95 samples at a time but occasionally our queue can support smaller projects on Affymetrix 6.0.
