Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
Sr. Computational Biologist
From a very young age, Archis was amazed at how advances in medicine could so greatly impact the human condition. His curiosity drove him to explore cutting-edge research in medicine through the Summer Scholars Program. His project involved developing a platform for the analysis of high-throughput data concerning functional cancer genomics, a tool that he hopes will become broadly applicable and used by others in the community.
Archis felt that his internship expanded his understanding of molecular biology and allowed him to explore aspects of the field that he had never considered before. “Working at the Broad has truly given me a taste of what it feels like to be surrounded by an amazingly supportive group of passionate researchers. I think that this passion and innovative spirit which pervades the Broad's atmosphere is really what draws the line between research in the lab and science in the classroom," said Archis.
Outside of the Broad, Archis continues to engage in his love of science by helping to co-run the blog thephysicsdomain.com, where he posts interesting physics problems and challenges.
