In the New York Times: "New Screening Could Lead to More Potent Cancer Drugs"

A new study of cancer stem cells, led by Boston-area researchers, including several at the Broad Institute, appears in the August 14 edition of The New York Times. The story, "New Screening Could Lead to More Potent Cancer Drugs," features Broad researcher Piyush B. Gupta and Broad director Eric S. Lander.

The work was also featured by the BBC News, US News & World Report, and New Scientist.

In the new work, researchers used a novel stem-cell method to discover a chemical with potency against breast tumors in mice.  The original study appears in the August 13 advance online issue of Cell.
