Sarah Pearson

Sarah Pearson is the Broad’s chief development officer. In this role, she oversees fundraising that supports the institute’s mission of transforming medicine.

Before she came to the Broad, Pearson was vice president for alumni relations and development at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, she managed a team of 175, serving six undergraduate schools, the graduate school programs, a Big Ten athletics organization, and the university’s museum and library.

She began her development career in 1980 at Harvard University, then served as director of the Cornell Fund during Cornell’s $1.5 billion campaign. Moving on to the University of Chicago, she served as associate vice president of development and alumni relations and campaign director during the launch of the university’s successful $2.23 billion campaign.

Pearson holds a B.A. from Bates College, where she serves as a member of the Board of Trustees, and an M.F.A. from Brandeis University.
