Feudal

The Feudal module is a specialized memory allocator for vectors of vectors. It enables Arachne to save both space and time when reading and writing binary format files. The inner workings of the Feudal module are arcane.

The module takes its name from feudalism, a political system in which many masters (the vecvectors) exercise strong local control over their serfs (the vectors). Hence the names Mastervec and Serfvec given to the internal vector types.
