Joanne Kotz is the director of scientific outreach within the Center for the Science of Therapeutics at the Broad Institute. She oversees the development of scientific content to articulate the vision of the group, particularly to support the interactions of the center with potential private sector collaborators, philanthropic and foundation partners, and government funding agencies.
Kotz joined the Broad Institute from Nature Publishing Group, where she was a senior editor of the translational newsletter Science-Business eXchange (SciBX), a role that involved writing news stories covering biomedical research advances and interacting closely with the business and scientific early-stage drug discovery community. Prior to her tenure at SciBX, she was a founding editor of the journal Nature Chemical Biology.
Kotz received her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and was a postdoctoral fellow at Genentech and the Necker Hospital in Paris.Last updated date: August 2013
