Joanne Kotz is the director of strategic initiatives within the Center for the Science of Therapeutics at the Broad Institute. In this role, she is involved in creating project teams, collaborations and partnerships to advance early-stage target and small-molecule discovery, particularly within cancer. She also serves as alliance manager for the Bayer-Broad collaboration.
Kotz joined the Broad Institute from Nature Publishing Group, where she was a senior editor of the translational newsletter Science-Business eXchange (SciBX). Prior to her tenure at SciBX, she was a founding editor of the journal Nature Chemical Biology. She received her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and was a postdoctoral fellow at Genentech and the Necker Hospital in Paris.Last updated date: June 2015
