The micrographs on the home page depict several stages in the life cycle of Rhizopus oryzae. They were kindly provided by Chris Skory of the USDA Agricultural Research Service. In the top montage, from left to right are:sporangia, immature sporangia, mature sporangia, (both from R. oryzae 99-880) and two images of zygospores from the crosses between R. oryzae stains NRRL 3133 x NRRL 13480.
