The Magnaporthe grisea Optical Maps have been constructed using restriction enzyme AflII (for more information, see Genome Maps Description for more details).

Contigs and supercontigs have been anchored to the genetic map by locating the position of genetic markers within the current assembly.

The markers from the Genetic Map were screened against a BAC library via RH techniques. The BAC library was end-sequenced by the FGL, and many of these marker-containing BACs have been located within the assembly using the sequence data.
