Description

The entire set of predicted Neurospora crassa 3 proteins was compared to all known protein sequences by conducting a BlastP similarity search (Expect < 1e-5) against NCBI's non-redundant protein set NR (February 2002). The resulting BlastP alignments for each protein were grouped according to their NCBI taxonomic kingdom or superkingdom.

The table below contains a column listing the total number of Neurospora crassa 3 genes that have similarity to known proteins in the given Kingdom category or categories. The second column presents the number of Neurospora crassa 3 genes with similarity to known proteins, where the BlastP alignment exceeds 60% of the gene length

Categorization by Kingdom Pairs

The table below breaks down the data by kingdom pairs. Each table cell is a count of Neurospora crassa 3 genes that has a BlastP match to the kingdoms listed in the given row and column. The count represents those genes that have at least one match to both sets of kingdoms.
